At the Spring, we believe in teaching the Word of God with simplicity, but with much substance! We also believe in building relationships with the saved and unsaved. One of our Christian desires is to care for children and senior adults through this church and ministry, because we also believe in taking care of everyone.
Underlying these basic beliefs, we also subscribe to the following:
There is One God, yet this One God is eternally existent in Three Persons as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1) We acknowledge that the Father is everywhere, and lacks a human form. He is the fountainhead of all that exists. We acknowledge that the Son is God in human form, Who is still fully God yet also fully human by a divine mystery known to theologians as the "hypostatic union." (Genesis 3:15; Isaiah 40; John 1:1) We acknowledge that the Son of God's name is Jesus, and He died and rose again for the salvation of the world. (John 3:16) We acknowledge that He ascended into Heaven at the right hand of the Father, and sent the Holy Spirit Who empowers the believer and keeps us from falling. (John 15:26-27) We recognize that being One God in Three Persons, He is the Trinity. All things come through the Father by the Son and the Holy Spirit, and nothing is done separate from One Another.
Salvation comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. (Romans 10:17) Any who profess Jesus as Lord and Savior must be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19) Salvation comes only through Jesus, because Jesus it the way to the Father, and He and the Father can cause this because They are One in essence (deity). (John 14:6)
God has established His Church, which works in His Kingdom. (Matthew 16:18) The Church is the body made up of Jews and Gentiles, because now all are one by the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. (Galatians 3:28) While imperfect, the Church is the Bride of Christ. This means we as believers are being prepared to be united with God through Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 5:25-27) God desires for the Church to gather together, no matter the number. (Hebrews 10:25; Matthew 18:19-20) In the Church, He also desires for people to learn under a shepherd and be held accountable to the perfecting of the saints. (Romans 10:14-15; 13:1-2)
God sends shepherds after His own heart. (Jeremiah 3:15) These shepherds are understood in the Church as the ordained ministries of elder and bishop. (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9) Each bishop that God has sent for His Church appoints their successors in order to guard the Church for generations; they also build up the Church in the way of the apostles. (Acts 1:20-26; 1 Timothy 4:14; 2 Timothy 2:2; Ephesians 2:20) These leaders are not bullying lords, but shepherds. (1 Peter 5:3)
God's grace is given to everyone, because He died for everyone. (John 3:16) God loves the whole world, and because of this, the Church has people from many walks of life. Grace is freely given to everyone, and the love of God. (Matthew 10:8; Colossians 3:13) There is no sin too greater than the other except for the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 12:31)
Children are the future, and must be supported to their fullest extent. (Matthew 19:14) God desires for the little ones to surpass where we could not, by learning from our mistakes and other things. Children must be encouraged and raised in the reverential fear (respect) of the Lord, and not provoked to anger. (Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 6:4)
God has given everyone a talent which they can use to grow themselves completely. Whether that talent is a vision for business, missions, counseling, teaching, and so much more, it must be nurtured and used righteously. (Matthew 25:14-30) Every believer should encourage one another to fulfill their God-given dreams, and leaders should especially be given their due honor. (1 Thessalonians 5:11-18)
Jesus prayed that the Church becomes one just as He and the Father are. (John 17:21) Recognizing this, we understand that we can work with other Christians in other denominations as partners in the Divine Harvest. (Matthew 9:37) We can do this because Jesus said that whoever isn't against Him is for Him, even if they are not part of our church and fellowship. (Mark 9:38-41) So long as we can agree on the essentials, our secondary and cultural differences should not hinder our equality as fellow Christians. (Romans 14:1)
