Union Spring Church had it's beginning in the year of 1933. It was started on the Bailey Plantation under what is known as, a Brush Aubri. The first church building was constructed in 1944, and later destroyed by a tornado in 1953. Due to the God-given faith of its congregation, this by no means altered the plan that God had given in vision. Bearing in mind that, "nothing shall separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus," Union Spring continued to press forward.
Reverend Teddy Milligan was the very first pastor of Union Spring. Since, Union Spring has had four pastors and at the present, completely under the unction of the Holy Spirit, we have the wonderful Bishop Joseph Hall, Jr. as our spiritual leader, and overseer.
Under Bishop Hall's leadership, the church has grown by leaps and bounds. Union Spring Church's building had been paid off, there has been a visual extension of the church, and we now have a unique Restoration Center. Under his leadership, we have become the first church in Desoto Parish to be a part of a radio and television ministry. Then, there are the purchases of vans, shuttles, buses, drums, an organ, sound equipment, also the establishment of the Transportation Ministry, Nursing Home Ministry, Home Bible Study Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Youth Connect (the youth and young adult's ministry and church) and so much more.
Inclusive of the great leaps and bounds that the Spring has experienced under Bishop Hall as he follows the leading of the Holy Spirit, our church has embraced a greater flowing with the Spirit as He moves in each of our lives. Many continue to be brought to the light of Christ by lovingkindness, truly Spirit-filled and led praise and worship, instruction, and accountability; and countless others who have fallen by the wayside have recommitted themselves to carrying their crosses on this long, Christian journey. Other churches and ministries have also officially partnered with the Spring through Bishop Hall and the fellowship he has been blessed to preside over, Anointed Word Ministries, Inc., in order to learn and mutually grow into the blessings that have been conferred unto our church by reaching across the aisle and collaborating to the unity of the faith, "that they all may be one."
